Pete After 25 Years with IBM

My official silver anniversary with IBM (25 years) is in March 2010. Yikes! My manager (Marian Chase) is accepting letters for the portfolio they put together to celebrate, but feel free to email me or (in proper Web20 manner) post a comment to this entry here in my blog.

I have a similar entry in my internal IBM blog, but there are so many people who are now outside the firewall I thought I'd post out here. I'd like to use this as an opportunity to reach out and reconnect with folks. I may try a poke on Facebook or LinkedIn too.

I'm thinking about putting together a light "life story" and posting it....more for my amusement than anything else really, but it is a good excuse to reflect on some of the things I've done.

Mutually Assured Humiliation (we all live in glass houses)

"We will enter a time of mutually assured humiliation; we all live in glass houses. That will be positive for tolerance and understanding." -- Jeff Jarvis, CUNY. From a Pew Research report on the internet ( http://pewresearch.org/pubs/1053/future-of-the-internet-iii-how-the-experts-see-it )

I trust my teeth but they still bite my tongue

Stumbled across this one which I think I picked up in a Western: "I trust my teeth but they still bite my tongue"...I Googled around and found that someone referred to it as a Russian Proverb. However, I didn't find a direct link to just that, so I created this blog entry to keep track of it for now.
